Birthday~

So I actually do feel a bit guilty for not updating this blog. I even missed my birthday, which many of my friends remembered and wished me well, so I shall express my thanks in a post~ =)

From Birthday
So firstly, my family~

From Birthday
My dad, who hardly ever goes cake-shopping because he himself doesn't really eat sweet stuff, went and bought me a cake. The bakery he went to was his friend's, and they didn't have any cakes at that time, so this was made on the spot. Coffee and red beans~ new flavor, haha.

And as usual, I requested that we don't go to some fancy restaurant, but to splurge at the Sydney Fish Market for fresh fish and lobster, killed and cooked by my dad~

Needless to say, it was a lot cheaper and way better than restaurants. I've always been proud of my dad's cooking =D

My second birthday cake, with tt, was actually after my birthday. Been busy with uni and all, I was literally stuck at home, staying up all night and working on assignments after assignments.

And as the weather gets hotter and more intolerable, one must have ice cream.

From Birthday
I actually haven't been back to Azuma for a long long time, but I was determined to have cake, so cake I got~

From Birthday
More cake! :D tt's treat, sankyu na~

Monday morning, postman came knocking~ twice actually, but the other one was for my brother. I'm still waiting on my parcel from my brother actually. I watched him get me my present- the books from the series Song of Ice and Fire, George R.R. Martin.

From Birthday
Boxcutter from Franklins. I must have at least 3 lying around the house... and always find myself missing a knife at work.

From Birthday
All wrapped up!

My new toy!!! :D Already named- Cephei. Have been lately naming things after constellations and stars, and Mu Cephei happened to be one of the brightest. Now I can have free 3G internet any time, everywhere AND read books without the weight.

Sure, I may have obtained the George R.R. Martin books onto Kindle, as well as Murakami's 1Q84 trilogy, BUT I must stress that I do love the physicality of proper books made out of paper, so I actually do (will) have the books which are on the kindle in actual book form as well. Gotta support the authors somehow right (or printing companies, whoever you think benefits from selling books these days). So tt got this for me to keep me occupied while he does his exams (and because he broke my last toy, the purple psp... jk), but it's really so useful, I have been using it everyday, from putting my presentation speech on it (so I save paper, no need to print~), and reading. Loving the ink screen, so clear under outdoor sunlight~ /rave

Then the other day, I went to Tora Ichi with J.C.

From Birthday
I haven't seen her in ages! I really have J.C. to thank actually. She introduced me to my very first fantasy book, and I have been hooked to that genre ever since. Previously, my sister introduced me to Agatha Christie at a very young age and that was all I ever read. J.C. with her bottomless supply of fantasy books which she lent me throughout my years of undergrad, just lunching with her brought back nice memories of being in the same Japanese class together~

And the food was outstanding! It's at Wynyard, so heaps of business people around, and the price was actually quite normal for CBD dining. Sets costed between 14-20~ which is about the same as Gumshara... depending on what you order.

From Weeks 29-???
Usually, I order the char shu men... with an egg as extra on top. Can't have gumshara ramen without egg! However, I was actually famished that day and decided to check out their newest addition to the menu- the Mega Ramen, ALL toppings.

It was SO good. Gumshara never fails to impress~

From Weeks 29-???
Also received cards with messages that could make me cry, well wishes and presents, all very thoughtful ; ; Even a couple of Christmas cards too, haha. I've slotted them into a place which I see every single day- my bookshelf.

From Weeks 29-???
Uni classmate and friend made this for every single one of us who graduated this year from Masters. I got two because it was my birthday =) and because I couldn't decide which colour I want (and secretly wanted both, greedy...) so yay, thanks~

There's so much I'd like to update on, but for a birthday post, I think this will suffice. Goodnight!
